For those eulogising the children who stopped whilst their brutish parents hurried them away, exactly the same would have happened if instead of the violinist there'd been, for example, a drunk dressed in a tutu singing Andrew Lloyd-Webber numbers. A child's appreciation of novelty far outweighs their appreciation of art, beauty etc.

All art is contextualised and situated. Little wonder then that in a world that teaches us to value other peoples oppinions above our own, few of us look or listen to what goes on around us. The child who has not yet been conditioned hears and sees beauty at face value.

just shows how much of the world people miss when theyre not paying attention. even if i was in a hurry, or didnt want to feel compelled to donate money, i would have at least noticed it was bach and listened for as long as i could without losing the reason i was at the subway.

This is quite upsetting...

I recently moved to a larger city than the one which I was raised and feel I notice more of the world than ever before. I try to make a point of noticing little things like how the sky looks each day and sharing those moments with those around me.

It pains me to know how often little things are forgotten. This is photo from a parking garage in Green Bay. We had to sneak up to the top to enjoy this final stop of a very long walk.

during the experiment, only children were appreciating the music, but were forced by their parents to go on their way. Blessed are the children...their minds are not yet corrupted!!
