GivesMeHope

There’s a website out there that gives us hope. GivesMeHope   It celebrates the little things in life that we experience that give us hope.  Here are a few entries:

There’s a girl on the swim team that is really mean to my daughter.

The other day that girl needed a ride to practice and called my daughter to take her. I was surprised when she picked up the keys and got directions.

When I asked why, she said that everyone needs help sometimes.

Her forgiveness GMH.

I was at Chipotle Mexican Grill to pick up dinner.

When it was my turn to pay, the guy who was making my burrito said: “This one’s on me; you look really sad, I want you to be happy.”

I was really caught off guard.

It was one of those unique, surprising moments that remind me of what people can do for others. It GMH.

I was walking my dog when he saw a cat and ran after it. I couldn’t find him.

An hour later, I got a phone call. A man said he had been chasing my dog and finally caught him.

When the man showed up at my house, he was wearing his military uniform…

and missing an arm and a leg. He GMH.

Relationships are for giving

Some of the biggest challenges in relationships come from the fact that most people enter a relationship in order to get something: they’re trying to find someone who’s going to make them feel good. In reality, the only way a relationship will last is if you see your relationship as a place that you go to give, and not a place that you go to take.
